About Leezhard’s Exploration

Guanhan Li (Kyle Leezhard) is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, a landscape photographer with over 30,000 subscribers, and the 2015 Red Bull Paper Wings China national champion in aerobatics.

In academic research, his interests focus on flow instability and transition, applied mathematics, numerical simulations, and the potential use of data-driven methods to complement these areas. His informal research includes MATLAB-based simulations of monopoly, theoretical modeling and numerical simulation of paper airplane flight, as well as the development of a paper-folding simulator.

In photography, his works has been featured in China National Geography, the China National Photography Exhibition, and China Daily Press. He is also the winner of the 9th DJI SkyPixel Annual Contest and a member of the Shaanxi Provincial Photographers Association. His philosophy is to return the lens to people—seeking human presence within grand narratives—which is reflected in his collection Light, Shadow, and Life. Kyle is passionate about passing on his knowledge to those who seek it. He currently serves as a technical support and consultant for the Northwestern Polytechnical University Photography Association, where he shares advanced post-processing techniques and his personal experience with club members and online audiences.

In paper airplanes, he previously served as President of the China Paperplane Forum and has created over 100 original designs and holds four patents. His main interest lies in the design of three-dimensional paper airplanes, and he is the first to propose and practice the concept of “curved 3D” paper airplanes.

Personal Logo

His logo features three "D"s: Devil, Direction, and Destruction.

Moving towards the Direction of freedom, innovation becomes essential (the Destruction of the old system). The one who follows this path is seen as the Devil.

The two inner Ds are interlocked like a chain, while the outer part of the D is left empty, symbolizing "self-discipline rooted in the heart, and a lifelong yearning for freedom." The D also reflects his love for One Piece (the D family) and Doraemon. In essence, this logo embodies who he is.
