About Leezhard’s Exploration

Guanhan Li (Kyle Leezhard) is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, a landscape photographer with over 30,000 subscribers, and the 2015 Red Bull Paper Wings China national champion in aerobatics.

In academic research, his interests focus on flow instability and transition, applied mathematics, numerical simulations, and the potential use of data-driven methods to complement these areas. His informal research includes MATLAB-based simulations of monopoly, theoretical modeling and numerical simulation of paper airplane flight, as well as the development of a paper-folding simulator.

In photography, his philosophy is to return the lens to people—seeking human presence within grand narratives—which is reflected in his collection Light, Shadow, and Life. Guanhan is passionate about passing on his knowledge to those who seek it. He currently serves as a technical advisor and consultant for the Northwestern Polytechnical University Photography Association, where he shares advanced post-processing techniques and his personal experience with club members and online audience.

In paper airplanes, he has created over 100 original designs and holds four patents. His main interest lies in the design of three-dimensional paper airplanes, and he is the first to propose and practice the concept of “curved 3D” paper airplanes in the Chinese internet community.
